About Me
I studied Psychology and started my career in medical research. I’m currently a research scientist, specialising in neuroscience. I’ve recently realised that this isn’t really my passion, and I’ve taken up extracurricular courses in forest therapy, herbalism and wildlife rehabilitation. These are really exciting me, and I hope I can move my career in a direction that aligns with them.
How did I get into the outdoors?
I spend a lot of time working with people with mental health struggles, and have my own too. Seeing the positive impact that simply being in nature and outdoors can have on us has been hugely inspiring for me, but has also made me want to give something back to nature.
Favourite adventure or experience?
I’m lucky enough to live near some incredible nature. Last summer I hiked for 3 hours up to a natural reservoir where we hoped to swim, and found it full of cows! Cows had escaped a nearby field and had come over to the reservoir also for a drink and a dip, and seeing them and sharing that space with them was incredible.
One mindset or bit of kit I always take with me?
A book! I don’t always sit down to read it, but I’m a firm believer that one should always have a book on hand.
What am I looking for?
I’d love to move into a full time role working in the outdoors.
