The Wild Path #20
Kendal highlights, free Expo tickets, and this week’s top outdoor jobs.
Issue 20 - Week of 24th November 2025
📬This Week on The Wild Path
Kendal Mountain Festival was fantastic this year. It was brilliant meeting so many people from The Wild Path community in person, and connecting with organisations who are doing incredible work across the outdoor sector. Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello, shared what you’re working on, or told us how The Wild Path is helping you, it really meant a lot. It’s been a big week of growth for the community, and we’re excited to keep building on it.
We’re also continuing our partnership with the National Outdoor Expo: use the code WILDPATH to grab one of 100 free weekend tickets for the Birmingham event on 21–22 March 2026. Once the free tickets are gone, the code switches to £5 weekend passes.
And a quick reminder that The Wild Path has been shortlisted for the Open Outdoors Award by The Great Outdoors Magazine, recognising organisations that promote access and diversity in the outdoor sector. If you haven’t had a chance to vote yet, we’d be so grateful for your support.
Thanks for reading, sharing, and being part of this growing community. You can also keep up with us on LinkedIn and explore more on teamwildpath.com.

About Me
Hi, I’m Jane, a climber, hiker and trail runner. My business is called Figure Eight Creative and I work with outdoor brands by providing copy, content and comms services. I love the combination of creativity and strategy in my work, collaborating with clients to craft meaningful messaging that helps to inspire more people to get outdoors more often.
How did I get into the outdoors?
As a child, my parents would drag me out on walks and I was the queen of moaning all the way. And oh how things have changed! I really got into the outdoors when I moved to the Italian Alps to teach English after uni. I was drawn there by the skiing opportunities but ended up really getting into rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering and hiking. I’m now back living in the UK and spend as much time as I can outdoors (and now I’m the parent dragging my kids out on the hills as much as possible :-P)
Favourite adventure or experience?
A recent project that has been really rewarding was working closely with a client (an outdoor clothing and accessories brand) on their Impact Report. I helped to shape the structure and content of the report as well as editing the texts for readability and clarity. I loved the collaborative nature of the project and sustainability is close to my heart so it was all-round really interesting.
In the outdoors, I’m happiest when rock climbing. I did a lot when I lived in Italy and am hoping to get more trad leading experience under my belt on British rock. Saying that, one of my most memorable outdoor adventures was a 4-day trek in the Alps, staying in bivvy huts. On the second night, we watched the sunset as the clouds crept up the wild valley below our feet, under the watchful, quizzical gaze of a family of chamois - it was just magical.
One mindset or bit of kit I always take with me?
Emergency snacks. Defo want to avoid getting “hangry” when out on an adventure!
What am I looking for?
I’m looking to connect with new clients - any outdoor organisations or brands who believe in authentic human connections and looking after our planet and would like the fresh eyes of a creative and strategic writer to support their team. Plus I’m always happy to chat and connect with other outdoor creatives!
